Dear Families,

This week we are learning about leaves! Our children really enjoy learning about the fall season! Today they presented their farm projects. Everyone did an awesome job:) If you would like to have your child’s presentation pictures, please email me over the weekend at dblain@olcacademy.net, I will be more than happy to email them to you! Thanks for assisting your child with the project, a lot of thought and effort was put into it. Thanks again!

As part of our leaves unit, I ask that every child go on a leaf hunt. Please gather leaves with your child, place them in a Ziploc bag ,with your child’s name on it. Please have the leaves in by this Thursday! We will identify the leaves based on their color, shape sand size.

Below are a few reminders:

• Please remember to keep your child’s reading log notebook at home Monday-Thursday! All reading logs books must be returned on Friday!!!
• Please practice tying laces with your child at home. This is a great fine motor activity!
• Please remember to bring in your child’ blanket every Monday.
• Please remember to check and remove all items from your child’s folder daily.
• We will go on unannounced neighborhood walks, please dress your child accordingly. Always remember, to have a sweater or jacket available for your child.
• Our Halloween party will be on October 31st, all students are allowed to dress up in costumes. I am asking every parent for a small party donation. I will create a party list with the item I am asking your child to bring in. Please keep an eye out for that information, it will be given soon.
