Write  the words on index cards and keep them at home in a zip lock bag for review and drill.

Review pages 50, 51, 52 and 53 in your Social Studies Book.  Answer the questions on pages 53 in your Green Dot note book.

We are going on our trip tomorrow to the MET in NYC.  We will be leaving between 8:30 am and 9:00 am.  Children are to wear their gym uniforms and sneakers.  Bring snack and lunch as usual.  I will bring as snack for the bus.  If your child is not going on the trip they will stay in another classroom for the day.  I expect to be back at school by 1:30.  

Parent / Teacher Conference Slips went home today.  I will try and accommodate your first request.  Please send them in as soon as possible.

We will be having a bake sale on Wed and Thursday.  We are using the proceeds of the sale to renew our Brain Pop subscription, which we use in class and the children use on their tablets.  

Please send in pre-packaged, pre-cut goods on Tuesday and  Wednesday morning.  Some popular items are:

munchkins, donuts, large cupcakes, large cookies, brownies,  rice crispy treats, any kind of cake that is already cut, any holiday goodies would be popular,  napkins, small paper plates. 

We also need parent volunteers for Thursday at 11:00 and 12:00.  Please email me if you can help out.  

Our trip to the Metropolitan Museum is on Wednesday December 5th.  Students should bring their lunch and snack to school as usual.  Please wear your gym uniform and comfortable sneakers.  We will be doing a lot of walking in the museum.  We will eat snack before we leave and lunch when we get back. I will have water and a snack for the children for the bus ride back to school.  

Christmas concert is next week. Please have the children practice “Little Drummer Boy”, you can find the lyrics on You Tube.  Children are to wear red tops with black pants or skirt.

Every child needs a set of earphones to use in school with their tablets.  An inexpensive set of “dollar store” earphones will do just fine.  Please put your child’s name on them and put them in a large zip lock bag with their name on it as well.  Please send these in by Monday October 15th.

Science quiz is changed to Friday

 

ELA:

  1. Memory words – do, have, show, how, me, a
  2. Pattern Words- bang, hang, sang, king, sing, thing, long, song, hung, sung
  3. On the paper in your home folder write something you are thankful for. Write at least 3 sentences. Every sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a period.  Use scrap paper for your first draft before writing your final draft.

            A. An introduction sentence;   I am thankful for ….

             B.  At least one detail……like, who, what, where, or why

               C.Conclusion

Math:

  1. Turkey Subtraction
  2. Chapter test will be on Tuesday.

Science:

  1. Worksheet “Who’s my Parent?”
  2. Science page 252-253
  3. Quiz tomorrow – Living things and their young
