Today, our 4^th, 6^th, and 8^th graders began taking the New York State English Language Arts exam, which they have worked very hard to prepare for. This test is a reminder that our school year is almost complete, but there are still many things to accomplish before the year is through.

REGISTRATION & SCHOLARSHIP UPDATE

It is urgent that any family who plans to return for next year re-registers immediately! More than half of our seats for next year are already gone! We are already nearing capacity in some grade levels, with dozens of new students already registered for the upcoming year. To guarantee a seat in the grade and campus of your choice, please re-register as soon as possible. Your account must be current to re-register.

The following classes are very close to capacity:

Rockaway Boulevard:

1^st Grade, 2^nd Grade, 3^rd Grade, 4^th Grade, 6^th Grade, 7^th Grade, 8^th Grade

128^th Street:

Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1^st Grade, 4^th Grade, 6^th Grade, 7^th Grade, 8^th Grade

The first round of the scholarship process ends on April 22. Families in the first round are guaranteed to receive the highest possible scholarship that they are eligible for; those who apply after may still receive a scholarship, but it won’t be as high as it would be.

Remember that OLCA covers the cost of this scholarship application. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by applying!

SPIRIT WEEK

Next week, we continue the tradition of Spirit Week, a fundraiser for our graduating eighth graders that will cover the costs of their senior trip. Please support them if you can. We’ve arranged for some exciting class and school activities, and we will be announcing the winner of our CultureFest Logo Contest at the end of the festivities.

LENTEN BOXES

Finally, you should have received a cardboard box for our annual Lenten drive. The funds collected will help to buy school supplies in developing nations around the world. We are so blessed to have all that we have, and it is amazing how giving just a little can provide so much for others in need.

BASKETBALL PROGRAM

In closing, we would like to thank Mr. Baldassare, Mrs. Zamora, and our incredible team of parent volunteers who have made the Basketball Program such a big success! Due to popular demand, we are currently planning a Summer Basketball Program. Parents who would like to help organize this event can call either campus office or speak to Mr. Coyne at Saturday’s game, which will be at our 128^th Street Campus.
