Due to final exams, there is no homework on Monday, 6/10. Our ELA final is tomorrow, 6/11.

Children will need to bring their folders and planner to school every day until the last day of school.

We have an in-class “virtual” field trip with the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, 6/12. This was provided to our class courtesy of CTN, as a thanks for our participation in the Great Diocesan Read Aloud. We will embark on our top secret mission after lunch on this day.

Half days begin Friday, 6/14 and will continue as such for the rest of the school year.

Honors Assembly will be held at 9am on 6/18. Mass to follow at 10am. NO DRESS DOWN.

Last day of school and class party on Wednesday, 6/19.

Summer Packets: I will not have the summer packets for the students (as incoming 6th graders) until next week. Packets are designated to go home next Tuesday. If you want the packet earlier, that cannot be guaranteed. Same goes for incoming 5th graders – I will have packets ready for next Tuesday, and no earlier.

The 5th through 8th grades will be attending a field trip at the Central Park Zoo on Thursday, May 23.

We will leave at 9 AM and return by 1:30 PM.

Students attending must turn in the signed permission slip and $15 fee by Thursday, May 9. No late slips can be accepted. There are three chaperone spots available – preference will be given to chaperones who were unable to go on previous trips. The cost for a chaperone is also $15.

Students must wear their FULL uniform, bring a BAGGED lunch (something that is easily disposed of – paper bag, Ziploc bag, etc.) Please do not bring actual lunch bags – ONLY bags that can be thrown out AFTER we are done eating. Sandwiches or quick finger foods are ideal for lunch at the zoo.

A stop at the gift shop will not be in the schedule.

I have yet to make a determination as to whether or not phones will be allowed on the trip. I will let the students know my final decision before the trip.

Sports Award Dinner on 5/10/19

On Friday, May 10th from 6-9 PM, the OLCA Sports Program is having its end of the year event in the auditorium. Invitations and permission slips were given to all registered participants – I believe only two students from 5-1 have responded.
